I’ve always wondered about home theater seating: What makes it so different from regular everyday seating? How are they built? What types of materials are used? I recently stopped by Fortress Seating in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. for an look at the art of designing, constructing and customizing home theater seats. Berkline to Shut Down, Liquidate

Consumers soon will have to find another comfy seating option for their home theaters. Furniture Today reported that Berkline is planning to shutter its business and liquidate all of its assets. CE Pro has confirmed the news with Berkline’s PR rep. The upholstery and home theater seating company has apparently been trying to sell for quite some time. “It has determined that an orderly liquidation of substantially all of the company’s assets is the only viable course of action,” Berkline said in a statement. Here’s a twist on the often repeated tale of the professional integrator cleaning up a project after the cable guys: the professional integrator doing a project for the cable guys. It’s a good thing for Comcast that Centennial, Colo.-based Logic Integration put in, and eventually won, the bid to outfit the provider’s Denver call/command center, too.
