3D was the thing at Sony’s New York product showcase where it unveiled what home audio video division category manager Jon Lin calls its “3D step-up series” of TVs. James Pestone is a movie addict, but you won't find him upgrading to Blu-ray anytime soon. For one thing, the Star Wars sagas are not available in HD yet. And this homeowner has more than 3,300 regular ol' DVDs. Themed theaters are nothing new. We’ve seen our share of sci-fi homages, western themes, movie star themes and more. With the help of some local artistry and custom fabrication, this theater room gives a nod to the don. Yes, the godfather Don Corleone keeps a steady eye on the gatherings in this home theater, which was designed and installed by Michigan-based Spire Integrated Systems. Yes, we’re halfway through August, but that doesn’t mean the summertime fun has to end soon. Meridian's new 4,000-square-foot theater in the SoHo section of Manhattan. Meridian recently hosted a grand-opening celebration for its new Demonstration Theater in its New York City headquarters.
