Duration: 1 hr
Presented by: Jason Knott, Editor-in-Chief, CE Pro
Panelists: John Vierra, Monster Cable; Joel Silver, Imaging Science Foundation
HDMI is one of the most difficult cables to manufacture that has ever been designed for the custom installation market. Yet it has become the dominant cable because it is the first cable to transcend A/V, computer, cameras, personal electronics and cell phones.
But as a result of this popularity, there has been a drive toward lower prices and a proliferation of “marginal quality” cable for the current technology on the market. The last thing dealers need is to be installing HDMI cable today that will need to be replaced in the near future.
For dealers, questions about HDMI still abound:
- Will HDMI cable handle new technology and specifications, like Audio Return Channel (ARC) and HDMI Ethernet Channel (HEC)? like 3D, even higher resolutions and deeper colors?
- What is the data capacity of cable and how does it affects resolution, color depth and refresh rate?
- How do you know your HDMI cable will perform at longer distances?
- How are cables tested for reliability? For performance above and beyond current sources and displays?
In this one-hour educational webinar, attendees will get answers to those questions and learn the key criteria they need to look for in their HDMI cables to assure the future-proofing of their systems while also providing maximum profitability.
Integrators will also learn the first-hand experiences from one of the industry’s top technology leaders, Joel Silver from Imaging Science Foundation, on how he analyzes his HDMI cable and how he has overcome problems in the field.
